Ask HN: What do you call Holy Grail mania risk?
I am looking at the statements of various governments, making out sized claims or at least claims that are not backed by any rigorous methodology, about the capability of AI and using to convince people to consent to their pre-existing policy or ideological Agendas. Then I am looking through all these taxonomies of AI risk and I can’t find something that fits this exactly. Like it’s not using AI to commit fraud or make disinformation, it’s using the promise of the holy grail and short circuiting

Demand hypothesis
Treat the reported task or obstacle as an interview lead. A feature request, complaint or search for alternatives does not by itself identify a budget owner or willingness to pay.
Commercial evidence gaps
Missing evidence: distinct affected users, repeated occasions, current workaround, measured time or money cost, purchasing authority and a response to a concrete offer.
Validation decision
Group original reports by the same task and deduplicate authors and reposts. Ask how the task is handled today and what it costs; test a defined offer before claiming paid demand.
